What Goes Into a Custom Food Trailer Build
- Structural & Exterior: Steel frame construction, aluminum or steel wall panels, diamond plate flooring, custom-sized serving windows, fold-down counters, and an exterior ready for your wrap or paint scheme. We build trailers from 8ft to 24ft+.
- Kitchen Layout & Equipment: Your kitchen is designed around your menu. Flat-top griddles, fryers, hood systems, prep stations, three-compartment sinks, and walk-in-capable cold storage — all NSF-rated and positioned for efficient service flow.
- Electrical, Plumbing & Compliance: Full electrical panels sized for your equipment load, generator hookups, hot and cold water systems, grease traps, and ventilation. Every trailer is built to pass Colorado DDPHE and county health inspections.
Why Operators Choose Zion for Trailer Builds
- One Shop, One Team: Your trailer stays in our facility from start to finish. Welders, electricians, and fabricators work under one roof — nothing gets lost between vendors and timelines stay on track.
- Colorado-Specific Engineering: Altitude, temperature swings, and county-by-county health codes all affect how a trailer needs to be built. We design for Colorado conditions because that's where we build and where most of our trailers operate.
- Transparent Build Process: You'll see your build in progress, get photos at each stage, and have direct access to your project lead. No black-box timelines or surprise change orders.

Yes. Every trailer we build is designed to meet Colorado DDPHE requirements and county-specific health codes. We include three-compartment sinks, handwash stations, grease traps, proper ventilation, and NSF-rated surfaces as standard. Most of our clients pass inspection on the first attempt.
Both. Many clients have specific equipment they want installed — a particular griddle, a smoker, a soft-serve machine. We’ll integrate whatever you bring and source anything else from our network of commercial kitchen equipment suppliers at competitive pricing.
